Team Awards

The 2011 Susan G. Komen Central Valley Race for the Cure® is all about TEAMS! Our Race teams can change history—the history of breast cancer—by helping the Komen Central Valley  Race for the Cure reach record-breaking levels of Race participation and fundraising. A Race for the Cure team is a group of 10 or more participants who join together for the Race season to have fun and raise funds to empower the breast cancer movement.

Team Awards

Team awards help drive the friendly competition that makes each year better than the last! Numbers for awards are calculated for registrations and donations received by a specific dates.

• Only those teams registered  by mail and postmarked by October 11 and online by October 18 will qualify for the Team Awards given on Race day.
• For each donation received, the following must be entered on the Donation Sheet provided to ensure the donation is credited properly: participant’s name or team name for which the donations has been made, donor’s first and last name and address.
• Please do not add donations that have been made online to the Donation Sheet.

Funds collected after the cut-off date will not be considered for award calculation purposes.

 All team donations that will be counted toward the Most  Donation Team Awards in each team category will be due as follows:
1. By mail - October 24 (postmarked) and should be sent to:

2. Online - October 27 by 11:59PM
3. In person - October 28 by 12:00 NOON. (All donations turned in on October 27 and 28 must be dropped off in person at:

Macy’s Fashion Fair
4888 N Fresno Street (west end of mall off of Fresno St. & Santa Ana)        

On Race day at the Team Central tent, custom awards will be presented to the top teams for:  Most Members, Most Creative, Most Survivors and Most Donations in each of the following categories:
          1.  Corporate
          2.  Friend/Family
          3.  Government/School /Organization 

The TOP fundraising Team will be featured on the Komen Central Valley homepage from November 1, 2011 to November 1, 2012.  Top fundraising Team will also be featured on the 2012 Team Handbook.
