Board of Directors Positions

 
Board Development Chair- Provides ongoing review and recommendations to enhance the quality and future viability of the Board of Directors. Develops and implements a plan to provide the Board with Board development opportunities, recruitment, education and assessment

Communications Chair-Journalism/PR&Marketing/Social Media  experience necessary.  Assists Executive Director with preparation and distribution of Affiliate press releases.  Write for website News and Affiliate Spotlight articles.  Use social media to promote breast cancer education and upcoming Komen events.

Treasurer-Provides accurate and timely financial information to the Board of Directors and the Affiliate Service Department at Komen Headquarters. Conducts and monitors all financial matters of the Affiliate in an ethical and professional manner.  CO-TREASURER AND SUPPORT POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON TREASURY COMMITTEE


Co-Chair Positions

 
Education Co-Chair—Helps facilitate accomplishment of breast cancer outreach and education endeavors.  Development of education programs and the ability to present.  Public speaking experience and bilingual a plus.  SUPPORT POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Public Policy Co-Chair-Assist Public Policy Chair to promote local, state and federal advocacy initiatives, provide research, write letters to the editor, organize projects, distribute information, and increase education and awareness in the community about public policy issues. SUPPORT POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON PUBLIC POLICY COMMITTEE

Sponsorship/Fundraising Co-Chair- Assists the Chair in development and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program to support the Affiliate’s financial needs. Solicits sponsorship/underwriters to cover expenses of Affiliate sponsored events.   SUPPORT POSITIONS AVAILABLE ON SPONS/FUND COMMITTEE

Race Chair for 2012--Oversees all aspects of the Race for the Cure

Co-Race Chair 2011-- Assists the Race Chair and Committee Chairs

Pledge Chair--Promotes the Power of 10 Challenge and accounts for top fundraisers to issue prizes

Sponsorship Co-Chair/Sponsorship Committee--Assists Sponsorship Chair with soliciting new sponsors and securing exisiting sponsors for Race for the Cure

Volunteer Co-Chair--Assists Volunteer Chair with coordination of new and existing volunteers for Race
